Product Description
The fuse cutout comprises essential components: the fuse link, the fuse cutout body, and the fuse holder.
The fuse cutout body serves as a crucial component, typically crafted from porcelain or polymer insulators. Its primary function is to isolate the conductive elements from the supporting structures to which the insulator is securely fastened.
Meanwhile, the fuse holder, also referred to as the insulating fuse tube, houses the replaceable fuse elements internally. When the fuse link within the holder melts due to excessive current, it effectively interrupts the circuit. This action causes the fuse holder to drop and hang from a hinge located at its lower end. This visible dropping of the fuse holder serves as a clear indication to operators that the fuse has melted and the circuit is disconnected. Additionally, linemen have the capability to manually disconnect the circuit using a hot stick.
In certain configurations, the fuse holder can be substituted with a solid blade, transforming the assembly into a switch mechanism only. This flexibility allows for various operational modes depending on specific application requirements, ensuring efficient and safe management of electrical circuits.
